The Tip to Tip relay is designed to be the most convenient and logistically simple race of its kind.
Between our bus service, designated base camps, online self registration, self check in online and our straightforward route on the Confederation trail; we take all the stress and planning out of it for you. All you have to do if come and have fun!
Please read below carefully so you can have a clear understanding of the event.
The race consists of 20 legs varying in length from 6.3 to 21.1 KM. Each leg will have a scheduled start time as well as a cut off time. You can view the leg distances as well as start time and cutoff times under “Schedule”.
There are 10 and 20 person team options. A team does not need to have the full number of participants but they must complete all 20 legs to finish the race. See “Registration” for more details.
Registration is by team name, each team will be issued 20 bib numbers. These can be picked up at the Linkletter Community Centre starting at noon Sept 4th. Race packages will be given to the team leaders along with the bib’s.
It is up to each team to decide who runs each leg. There is no maximum to how many legs a runner can do, but each leg must be run in its entirety by one team member. See the registration categories for more details.
Each runner must self check in online before the start of their leg. There will be a simple form on the website accessible by smartphone and pc, runners must indicate which legs they will run, their team name and their bib number. This should be done no later than two hours before the start of their leg.
Basecamp at the Beach
Camping is available at Linkletter Provincial Park. Fully supported registrations include camping spots for the night of Sept 5th that will be assigned by the race organizer. There are public bathrooms and basic facilities at the campground but camping gear is not provided. The aim of the race organizer is to make the basecamp a great place to crash while your teammates run. See “Fully supported Info”
Eastern headquarters
On Sunday morning as the race progresses East, the headquarters and bus pickup point will move from Linkletter to the “Leo Rossiter Park” aka Morell community centre. There will be a large green space and building that teams can use to hang out and rest while their teammates are running. For more details please see “Fully Supported Info”.
