Rules
Our goal is to keep it simple. Below are a few basic rules to help the event run smoothly.
Running- All legs must be run, no bikes or other mechanical assistance allowed. You must run on the designated course only. Your bib number must be visible on the front of your body at all times or you will not receive a time.
Team order-It is up to teams to decide who runs which leg. There is no rule against running multiple legs back to back but all runners must self check in online at least two hours before the start of their leg and specify who will be running which leg.
Road crossings-The race course crosses 141 roads over its 273km. There will be flaggers at all crossings but we cannot force cars to stop. You must look both ways before you cross. Charging across a road without looking can result in a penalty or disqualification.
Headphones-may be worn but only in one ear. You must be able to hear your surroundings to be safe.
No Littering_ All feed stations will have garbage cans. All garbage must be deposited in garbage cans or carried with you. Littering can result in penalty or disqualification.
What happens if you miss your cutoff time-Your team will be given the cutoff time plus a 10 minute penalty. If you wish to make it to your bus, you must get into the sweep van as it passes you. Otherwise you will miss your bus and will not be taken back to basecamp. If you choose to refuse a ride to the finish from the sweep vehicle, you must hand in your bib and the race organizers will not be responsible for getting you back to basecamp. You if you refuse a ride to the finish you will most likely miss your bus.
